Student Bereavement Group
Grief is different for everyone. You don’t have to navigate it alone. Our Student Bereavement Support Group is a friendly, informal space where students can learn more about grief, talk, listen, and support one another. All experiences are welcome —
What the group offers
This monthly group provides:
- A calm, welcoming space to connect with other students affected by grief
- An opportunity to learn about the many ways grief can show up
- Time to chat, share, or simply listen — whatever feels right for you
- A supportive community that understands the impact of loss
There is no pressure to speak or participate in discussions unless you want to. Your comfort and emotional safety come first.

Who facilitates the sessions
Each session is led by two trained therapists from the university’s Wellbeing Service. They are there to guide the group gently, offer support, and ensure the space remains respectful and grounded.
A space to be yourself
However, you are coping, whatever emotions you’re carrying, and wherever you are in your grief, you are invited to come as you are.
Recently Experienced Grief
In the early stages of grief, or the grief is complex it can be helpful to have individual therapy which would enable you to have a private space to explore things individually with a trained professional.
