Meet Yose-Imri
Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security MSc
Newcastle's reputation as a strong global university with a practical learning approach was a big factor to study here.
A University that just felt right
I chose Newcastle University because of its strong reputation in agriculture and sustainability, as well as its practical and research-focused approach. The course aligns closely with my background and career goals, and I was also drawn to the supportive learning environment and the city’s welcoming atmosphere.
Supporting my university journey
I feel really supported here at Newcastle. The support networks are brilliant from the student wellbeing teams. Having this support network in place really reassured me and allowed me to use the services with confidence. Having that support when you need it most is valuable and helps me focus on my studies.
Outside of my studies
Outside of my studies I have joined societies to help my social network. I have joined Indonesian Society, and they usually host a lot of Indonesian events, that made me feels like home away from home. The Indonesian Society is also a lovely way to meet the people with the same background as me, and to just share the experiences and the tips of living here in the UK.
My course here at Newcastle

It combines science, policy, and real-world applications, perfect if you want to make a meaningful impact in agriculture.
The course is very relevant to current global challenges, and the supportive lecturers and diverse international environment make the learning experience even more meaningful. I really enjoy the discussions, diverse perspectives from classmates, and supportive lecturers make the learning experience engaging and meaningful.
I really enjoy how relevant the course is to real-world challenges and how it connect science with policy and practice.
The supportive environment and international network have inspired me to apply my knowledge to improve Indonesia’s agricultural sector.
